With 300 days of sunshine a year, Arizona is an amazing place to live. In fact, it might be one of just a handful of states where residents cherish the few cloudy days they get annually. Not only do Arizonans have ample time to work on their tans, they also enjoy plenty of professional perks from living in the Valley of the Sun.

Boosting Productivity

It’s not just a notion. Direct and indirect sunlight help people maintain physical and mental health, giving their motivation level a boost. And the benefits are not only psychological – the sun provides vitamin D, melatonin and serotonin, which help you feel more alert and ready to take on the day. Studies also show that sunlight and low humidity are associated with positive emotions. All of these qualities help people in Arizona be more productive and feel happier, leading to increased satisfaction at work.

So, what does this mean for Arizonans? Since we are the number one state in annual average sunshine, we have a pretty good chance at being one of the most productive as well. The summer heat here can be a little much. Check out these great tips for how to thrive in Arizona summers from the Top Ten Travel Blog.

The Job Market in Phoenix

Arizona is also home to some amazing companies. Whether you want a job in technology, finance, law, healthcare or anything in between, we have you covered. Because of its beautiful weather and business-friendly legislations, Arizona attracts companies of all sizes. Uber, Yelp, Shutterfly and GoDaddy are among the many companies that have planted their roots here.

Catching Rays After Work

But no matter where you work, there’s always plenty of time to soak up the sun after a long and productive day at the office. If you like to stay active, Phoenix has many trails and mountains to hike. From the flat terrain at McDowell Mountain to the steep climb at Camelback, there’s a trail for everyone.

If you’re in need of some serious relaxation, the pools in Arizona are open all year round. Whether you have one in your backyard, in your neighborhood or at a local resort, there’s always one close by. And if you live for patio season, you can enjoy a rooftop happy hour in the middle of November. Because who wants to sit inside when you’ve been at your desk all day?

We know our nights and weekends will most likely have sunshine and beautiful weather, so we don’t have to worry about working on a nice day. While most of the country sulks in cold and rainy weather during their winter months, we’re able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine all year round! So, soak up the sun and recharge your batteries for a productive week ahead.
